Having A Maid?

Seriously, I'm in dilemma.. I wish to have a maid but afraid of the consequences.. Recently I was looking and asking around.. and the cleaner at my office name Ela come up with an option and possibility for me to have my first maid.. She said she knew somebody that she called as 'tekong' and will ask him on my behalf.. This morning, Ela turn up to me and say there is a candidate, 46 years old lady who currently still in Indonesia willing and interested to take this job.. The tekong will arrange her transportation and passport to Malaysia, and it will cost me RM700. And what i need to do later is to arrange her permit once she was here.. Ela also told me that I can hold the payment to the tekong until i'm satisfied with her job.. otherwise, i can cancel the whole thing..
other than inexperience, I'm really not sure the normal process of taking a maid other than through agent.. should I proceed and test my luck? what should I do?? Please, i need some advise..
